Why Homestays?
On the one hand many young people cannot and will not afford a language
course and the other services or they simply do not need them.
On the other hand many families would like to invite a girl, a boy, a
couple, a senior or other people during holidays or for a certain time and for
different reasons against board and lodging and/or pocket money.
Families motives:
Families may simply be interested in a cultural exchange and accommodate a guest, even without any payment,
but they may also need help during holidays or throughout the year with tasks all around the house.
Examples:
- babysitting
- eldercare
- animals
- gardening
- guarding the house
- redecorating
- other light tasks
Some families may want to rent a spare room for
little money.
Many families living abroad may want someone from their home country, because
they want someone to talk in their native language to their children.
Guests motives
- acquisition or deepening of language skills
- cultural exchange
- sightseeing, travel
- low costs
